WavePlus Releases High Performance Cost Effective WP3220/WP3221 Gateway Reference Design

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- WavePlus Technology announced today the release of production-ready hardware and software reference design for the WP3220/3221. The WP3220/3221, the second generation of Waveplus worldwide successful WP3211 solution, is a high performance processor which can run at up to 270MIPS. Its versatile interfaces bring simplicity for developers in designing voice and audio applications. The WP3220/3221 is currently sampling to select partners, with retail product availability expected by Q4, 2005. 
The WP3220/3221 new reference design provides high performance and a small run code footprint due to high code density. It allows OEMs and ODMs to develop cost effective solutions in various applications such as Wired router, Wireless router, VoIP Gateway, Analog Telephone Adapter, IP Phone, Audio Adapter, and Home NAS consumer products. The on-chip peripherals include 5-port Ethernet Switch, PCI interface, Voice or Audio interface, 2-wire serial interface, DMA controller, Interrupt Controller, Timer, and Clock Generation Controller.
